About Me

Intro:

I am the owner and founder of Bulletproof Fitness LLC.  We specialize in online and in person personal training with resistance training and nutritional guidance.  Our ideal clients are those wishing to lose fat, gain muscle, increase mobility and range of motion, and decrease pain.

My background consists of 10 years of military service in the US Marine Corps as a Recon Marine, 8 years of private security work overseas as a contractor, and Certified Personal Trainer.  Physical fitness has always been the cornerstone of life in the military and contracting with a focus on strength, endurance, and circuit based training.

Mission Statement:

To help veterans or anyone that feels lost or stuck reclaim their strength, health and confidence through real, no-BS fitness, recovery, and mindset training.  I’ve been there – I know the struggle. Now I’m here to help you make breakthroughs.

My Story:

Coming home after nearly two decades in the military and contracting overseas, the only thing that was familiar to me was the gym and gun range.  Like many transitioning veterans I struggled to adapt and find my place.  I took a government desk job and my fast-paced life came to a screeching halt.  Already dealing with chronic back, knee, and arthritis pain, I started developing all new physical, mental, and cognitive issues-along with an identity crisis.

I tried to snap out of it by getting back in shape with gym sessions and a couple fad diets, but nothing worked.  The VA’s solution was mostly pills yet my blood markers kept getting worse.  Horrible sleep, high BP, cholesterol, low T – at just over 40, I felt well into my 70s.  Then the VA discovered through an MRI that I had sustained damage to my frontal lobe, likely from years of hard parachute landings, whiplash, working w/ explosives and IED exposure which over time can severely impact the nervous system and hormones.

Feeling lost and all out of options, I swallowed my pride and hired a personal trainer. He helped me navigate through my injuries and with common sense dieting.  In 2 months, I had dropped 15 lbs of body fat, reduced pain, and saw my biomarkers improve.  A few months in, I looked and felt as though I had regained the body of my glory days. But more importantly, I felt like me again.

Although I still have obstacles to overcome, strength and mobility have become my cornerstone, impacting every other part of my life. Fitness after 40, especially with a vet bod, looks a lot different from my younger days of smoke-checking myself.  With the experience and knowledge I have now, I want to help veterans and anyone in similar circumstances that feel lost or stuck with their health.

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to go it alone.

To My Fellow Veterans,

The Global War on Terror (GWOT) has left a lasting mark on our generation of warriors. High operational tempos, back-to-back deployments, and increasingly heavy loads have created a unique set of challenges for our physical and mental health.  Today, disability rates are at an all-time high, and many of us find ourselves struggling to maintain fitness and adapt to life as civilians.

As someone who has walked this path, I understand what it's like to feel stuck and to lose the spark that once fueled your drive.  But I'm here to tell you that everything that made you a disciplined, lean, and mean BA is still within you.  My mission is to help you unlock that potential, break through the barriers, and reclaim your strength, confidence, and sense of purpose.

Exercise has a profound impact on mental health, reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression while boosting resilience and focus.  It's not just about looking good but feeling good both physically and mentally and will have a cascading effect on everything else in your life.

If you feel like you have lost your way, know that you're not alone and you don't have to go it alone.  I can help you rebuild that discipline, resilience, and strength that once defined you.   Today more than ever veterans need to break the cycle, regain our sovereignty and be the protectors and mentors society and the younger generations need.

The glory days are not behind you, you just have a new mission in a new chapter of your life.
